Terms and Conditions of Event Rental Agreement at Wola Joo Chiat

The payment terms:

  • A 50% down payment of the total event rental fee is required upon confirmation of the event rental agreement.
     

  • If the 50% down payment is not received immediately upon endorsement of this agreement (based on the agreement date), the booking will be automatically released and the agreement deemed void.
     

  • The remaining 50% balance & damage deposit must be paid in full to Wola Pte Ltd no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the event date.
     

  • If full payment is not received by this deadline, Wola Pte Ltd reserves the right to cancel the booking without refunding the 50% down payment.
     

  • In such cases, the event date will be released without further notice, and Wola Pte Ltd will not be held liable for any resulting loss, inconvenience, or damages incurred by the client (as hirer).

Rules to follow:

  • Pets are not permitted on the premises (except for the ORA area) unless written approval is granted by Wola Pte Ltd for events or special occasions deemed appropriate by Wola. Wola reserves the right to reject any such request at its sole discretion. The pet owner, as stated in the approved application, shall be held fully responsible for any damage to property caused by the pet or animal.
     

  • All safety and health regulations issued by the Authorities of the Republic of Singapore must be strictly observed by the event host and their guests at all times — before, during, and after the event — both within and outside the premises.
     

  • Customers may request an extension of event hours, subject to Wola's operational capacity and at an additional cost. Approval for such extensions is granted solely at the discretion of Wola's operations team.

  • Wola shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property sustained by the event host or guests during the use of the premises.

Usage of the event space, liability & safety disclaimer:

  • Events held at the venue shall not:

    - Undermine core moral values of society, including but not limited to the promotion of permissive lifestyles, or the depiction of obscenity or explicit sexual content.

    - Denigrate, demean, or incite hostility toward any individual, group, or class based on race, religion, or other protected characteristics, or create conflict or misunderstanding within Singapore’s multi-cultural and multi-religious society
    - Disparage or undermine government bodies, public institutions, national leaders, or otherwise subvert national security or social stability.

    - Contain content or activities that are offensive, obscene, derogatory, defamatory to any third party, or that may bring Wola Pte Ltd into disrepute or prejudice its interests in any way.

     

  • Wola Pte Ltd provides rental of interior event space only. The use of any areas outside the interior premises falls under the jurisdiction of the SINGAPORE LAND AUTHORITY (SLA). As such, the SLA reserves the right to request the removal or dismantling of any setup or structure placed outside our interior premises by customers or their vendors.
     

  • The setup of machines, appliances, play areas (such as bouncing castles), or any personal items brought in by the customer is strongly discouraged due to safety concerns. Our venue is designed to accommodate seated and standing guests only, and is not equipped with appropriate flooring, wall padding, or safety measures to mitigate injuries that may result from the use of such personal items.
     

  • By proceeding with the event, the customer—on behalf of all guests, vendors, and attendees—acknowledges and agrees that Wola Pte Ltd, its sub-contractors, and service personnel shall not be held liable in any way, whether legally, financially, or through public channels (including social media), for any incidents, injuries, loss of property, damage, death, or other unforeseen events that occur before, during, or after the event, whether within or outside the premises.
     

  • Wola Pte Ltd’s responsibility is strictly limited to the rental of the designated interior space during the agreed event period as stated in the official rental agreement.

Venue inspection, damage & cleaning responsibility:

  • Wola Pte Ltd reserves the right to access the premises at any time for inspection purposes. This includes the assessment of any damage to the venue, loss or damage to equipment, furniture, or fittings, and to evaluate the general cleanliness of the space after the event.
     

  • The event host (hirer) is fully responsible for any damage caused to the premises, equipment, furnishings, or any other property belonging to Wola. Any such damages, losses, or additional cleaning requirements will be documented and assessed against Wola’s official inventory list and item valuations.
     

  • If no damage or loss is found and the venue is returned in a clean and acceptable condition, the deposit(s) will be refunded in full. However, if damages or cleaning issues are identified, Wola will carry out the necessary repairs, replacements, or cleaning. All associated costs will be deducted from the hirer’s deposit(s).
     

  • Should the costs exceed the deposit amount, the hirer is required to pay the outstanding balance within five (5) business days of being notified. Failure to settle the balance may result in legal action.

Booking and cancellation:

  • The Management of Wola Pte Ltd reserves the right to advance, defer, terminate, or cancel any confirmed venue bookings in the event that supervening circumstances make it necessary to do so. In such cases, the Management will endeavour to give the hirer as much notice as reasonably practicable.
     

  • If the Management of Wola Pte Ltd cancels the booking or if the hirer declines a proposed rescheduling of dates, the deposit paid by the hirer will be refunded. Save as aforesaid, the Management shall not be liable to the hirer for any loss or damage arising from the exercise of its rights under this clause.
     

  • The premises at Wola Pte Ltd shall not be used for any purpose or in any manner which, in the opinion of the Management, may constitute a nuisance or cause complaints from other occupants of the building or the public. In this regard, the opinion of the Management shall be final, conclusive, and binding on the hirer.
     

  • The Management also reserves the right to terminate the whole or any part(s) of the event which it deems unacceptable. No claims for damages, losses, costs, expenses, or any other liabilities shall be made against the Management of Wola Pte Ltd on account of such termination.

Refund policy:

  • The Management of Wola Pte Ltd accepts no responsibility for any cancellation made by the hirer. The deposit paid is non-refundable in certain circumstances, as outlined in the agreed refund policy. The Management also reserves the right to release any previously booked venues.
     

  • All cancellation requests must be submitted via email in writing. The applicable refund policy is as follows:
    61 days or more before the event date: An administrative charge of $100 will be deducted from the deposit,
    46 to 60 days before the event date: An administrative charge of 30% of the total event rental fee will apply.
    31 to 45 days before the event date: An administrative charge of 40% of the total event rental fee will apply.
    - 30 days or less before the event date: An administrative charge of 50% of the total event rental fee will apply.

On hold policy :

  • The on-hold policy is applicable only if the request is made at least 46 days before the event date. It is subject to the refund policy, and administrative costs may be incurred.
     

  • Customers may place an event on hold due to unforeseen circumstances, for a maximum period of 6 months. Any request for further extension must be submitted to Wola Management and is subject to approval. During the on-hold period, the original event date will be released and made available for other bookings.
     

  • Contract transfers are permitted only after the full payment of the existing contract, including the damage deposit, has been made by the original hirer. Wola will only process a contract transfer when both the original hirer and the new hirer are physically present at our showroom to complete the transfer procedure.
     

  • Wola will not charge the new hirer any additional contract fees or deposits, as these have already been collected from the original hirer. The new hirer will be required to sign a letter of transfer and event rental agreement accepting the terms and conditions of space usage.
     

  • The damage deposit will be refunded to the new hirer (not the original hirer) after the event is completed and a post-event inspection is conducted.
     

  • Wola Pte Ltd shall not be liable, involved, or held responsible for any agreements, monetary transactions, or arrangements made between the original hirer and the new hirer of the event rental agreement.

Contract Liability :

  • While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of billing and contract details, discrepancies may arise due to administrative or human error. Wola Pte Ltd reserves the right to rectify such discrepancies by recovering or adjusting the final amount payable, in accordance with the contracted rates, terms, and any applicable discounts as stipulated in the agreement.
     

  • Should any incorrect amounts be collected as a result of such errors, Wola Pte Ltd reserves the right to claim or refund the difference, ensuring that the final billing reflects the correct and agreed-upon terms of the contract.
